Tracy 10 10 10 9  No  Thanks, this seems to validate everything I have read on this issue. DLA is only DATE OF LAST PAYMENT, any other date is not valid. In this case repossession reduced the debt amount, but was not a PAYMENT and should not affect the DLA.

Just this morning I called American Finance & Leasing(Truck Acquisition Funding, LLC...who I financed the tractor through), and the head guy said I did everything O.K. back in 07/2004 when I turned the tractor in, and that RTX, the carrier I hauled for, were the one's responsible for payments, and for me to call the debt collector back and tell the collector I spoke with "Blake" at Truck Acquisition Funding, LLC and the collection agency should stop hounding me. I've called the collection agency this morning 3 times but no one's there....I guess that's where I stand so far. Thanks again. Mike Eidson

I am just going to ignore this whole thing, and let them go pound sand.  I will simply put a call block on my phone from their 800 number.  If that doesn't work, I will simply send them a certified Cease and Desist letter to stop calling, and tell them the statue of limitations is over, and to have a nice day.
 
You mentioned "Ameriprise Financial Brand."  Who is that?

I just listened to your telephone call with Nationwide.  Fascinating.  I am fairly savvy enough to figure out and know the "sensible limitations" of what these company's can and cannot do.  Forcing/compelling someone to go out obtain a loan  to pay off a debt is so odd to begin with.  Then trying to put the burden (or forcingly co-mingle)  also on to the husband is incredible since he never co-signed for the credit card application and never committed/relinquished his social security number to AMEX. 
 
Funny, credit card companies and alike always say they can't talk to anyone other than primary cardholder when you call them about any account matter.  How convenient now that when debt is owed like this, the collections company/card company makes (or wants to make) the spouse  a convenient party to pay the debt.
 
I question everything.  I am a business owner.  My father was in the factoring business, and have some familiarity with the basics of credit.

I wonder if this company has a deal with "American General" where Nationwide  gets a commission for referring sub-prime borrowers.  Boy, offering $500 a month is pretty generous on a $10,000 debt for your clients to offer AMEX.  I would have taken that deal, and be done with it.  After two years, it would have been paid off.  End of story!

Someone on the credit infocenter mentioned your website.. I admit your letter stunned me.
 
I wanted to point out something small and perhaps useful, perhaps not.. I had a bad business venture for over two years.. I wanted to pay my debts and honestly did create payment plans with many of  my creditors, which were not hard to deal with.
 
The problem I find is when I had a 2000.00 go to 5000.00 due to "fees, interest.. etc.  As someone trying to GET out of the hole you get to a "what is the point" attitude.
 
But I can tell you the lawyers and companies I dealt with that treat me well, work with me.. get calls back and get checks on time.. I have two that keep me up nights that will not negotiate and they frighten me I admit.. (one has added an extra 11,000,00 to a debt he got for pennies.. WITH interest how do you deal with that??
 
Do I want to work it out.. you bet I do.. but I can't when no one is listening.. thanks for your note on your site.. I wish you well and if you know of anyone like YOU in the NC area.. let me know.. we need more like you

This has to do with Scott Lowry from CO (budd hibbs and I have had several conversations regarding this) they are threatening to arbitrate, but so far no papers have been served and they wont talk to my local attorney... this is for an MBNA account which they have jacked up an additional 10,000 I am fearful of what they can do.
